In Singapore, students are predominantly exposed to English in schools, on social media, or through entertainment during their downtime. This cultural emphasis has created a growing divide, with the Chinese language often perceived as a challenge or burden rather than a valuable skill to embrace.

As an educator, I’ve observed that many students struggle with Chinese because it feels disconnected from their interests and daily lives. This challenge is further compounded by the intimidating textbooks and complex materials they are expected to navigate, reinforcing the notion that Chinese is boring and overwhelming.

Unravel Learning Studio was founded to change this narrative. Our mission is to help students not only master the language but also see its relevance and connection to their lives. Through personalised teaching and innovative methods, we make learning Chinese manageable, engaging, and rewarding, breaking free from traditional approaches that often feel rigid or unrelatable.
